Réjean Ouimet held the position of Director General of Fromagerie St-Albert for 18 years. The Cooperative boasts 120 years of history, and Réjean is currently assisting in a consulting role. 

He owned and operated a dairy farm in St-Albert during several years, and ran his own business for 10 years. 

Réjean was employed at the heart of the Federal Co-op for 5 years. 

Fromagerie St-Albert has been very successful over the years, and has a wealth of experience to share in terms of market and product development, not to mention distribution chain and co-op excellence.

Jennifer is the Student Nutrition Program Manager for the Upper Canada Leger Center (UCLC). As Manager, she is responsible for implementing school breakfast and snack programs and encouraging healthy lifestyles within 8 counties, including Prescott Russell, SDG, Leeds/Grenville as well as Renfrew County. These programs are available to all students, regardless of socio-economic status.

Jennifer’s previous work with other community-based organizations has given her the experience to know and recognized the distinct needs of the surrounding communities. She is passionate about promoting healthy lifestyles and healthy nutrition within schools and feels that creating a fun, safe and innovative environment for students to try new foods is essential.

Jennifer is also Project Coordinator for Growing up Organic Prescott Russell, where she provides garden-based workshops to local schools, implementing and facilitating school gardens as well as encouraging farm visits. This past year Jennifer has been actively involved in a procurement project within Prescott Russell and SDG, connecting local organic farmers with schools and seeking funding to support these initiatives.

Simon currently holds the position of Executive Director with the Union des cultivateurs franco-ontariens (UCFRO). Simon formerly managed 'La Sanglière de l'Outaouais', an agri-tourism farm specializing in wild boar production.

Julia Graham is a passionate wife, mother, runner and foodie. Julia takes feeding herself and her family very seriously. She has spent the past 8 years teaching a successful hospitality and tourism program at the secondary level. Prior to teaching, Julia was co-owner of Sorella’s Catering.

Opening The Quirky Carrot is a dream come true for Julia. She understands the importance of food, and of getting people back into the kitchen.

Marie-Chantal Pilon, being passionate about the tourism and agri-food sectors, got the idea to build her own tourism enterprise. She has been the owner of the Ogenêt Bed and Breakfast situated in Plantagenet since 2008, president of Tourisme Prescott & Russell Tourism (TPRT) and council member since its beginnings in 2011. Having a passion for the culinary arts and always on the lookout for growth opportunities, she believes strongly that the region can offer a great variety and quality of local products and can make these accessible to visitors, and in the education and promotion on these local products.

As an Ontario workforce development leader with 40 years of sectoral experience and a proven track record of positive contributions to workforce and economic development and management, Denis Thibault is dedicated to the Agri-Food industry of Ontario.  He is dedicated to the betterment of communities and development of quality employees for economic growth. Denis is also a City Councillor for The City of Cornwall, Chair of the Board of Directors for Glen Stor Dun Lodge Municipal Home for the Aged, Past President of the Cornwall and Area Chamber of Commerce and a member of a number of other Boards of Directors.

Kathy is an Economic Development Officer for RDEE Ontario. She is a founding member of a number of organizations including: the first Franco-Ontarian Rural Family Home, the first outside Québec and; the Eastern Ontario Agri-food Network.

Kathy serves on the Board of Directors of the Fondation du Collège d’Alfred and the Maison familiale rurale franco-ontarienne.

In her spare time, Kathy enjoys gardening, playing squash and coaching soccer. She lives on 15 acres of land with her husband Marc and their sons Nikolas (11) and Zakary (9).

Dr. Renée Bergeron is an Associate Professor in the Department of Animal and Poultry Science and Director of Alfred Campus. Since moving to the University of Guelph in 2007, she has undertaken a study on dairy cow behaviour and welfare, while maintaining a research program in swine behaviour.

Geneviève holds over 9 years of experience in community economic development in project management and in special events. Since 2015, Geneviève is a senior project officer for the Economic Development and Tourism Department at the United Counties of Prescott and Russell, this in addition to 8 years at The Prescott-Russell Community Development Corporation as a project officer and manager of the Eastern Ontario Development Program.

Her education, a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Communication at the University of Ottawa and holds a diploma in the Travel and Tourism program at La Cité collégiale.

Genevieve is a mother of two little girls, who occupy the other half of her time!

Michel graduated from McGill University (Macdonald College) in 1980 with an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture Economics. Following his studies, Michel went to work for the National Dairy Council of Canada in Ottawa. At that time, the NDC was the national lobbying organization for processors and marketers of milk and other dairy products in Canada.

Michel joined OMAFRA in the early 1990s as a Business Management Specialist in Northern Ontario and spent several years working out of the New Liskeard office. In 1999, he was appointed as Agricultural Representative for Prescott-Russell.

His role has changed since he first came to Alfred and he now works as an Agriculture and Rural Economic Development Advisor serving Prescott-Russell, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry.

Lucie is a registered dietitian working at the Eastern Ontario Health Unit in Hawkesbury. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree  from Ottawa University.

She is a member of the College of Dietitians of Ontario, the Ordre professionnelle des diététistes du Québec and of the Ontario Society of Nutrition Professionals in Public Health.

She promotes healthy lifestyles and healthy nutrition in the community by delivering different programs, such as: Baby Best Start, Green Food Box, Supermarket tours, Nutri-Step and others.

Lucie is passionate about food and health.
