Casselman Farmers' Market

Do you love local food, fresh from the farm?

Do you love to support local food artisans, local preserves, local flavours?

Do you want to see a farmers’ market in Casselman this summer?

The Casselman Farmers’ Market plans to operate Saturdays between 10am to 1pm from June to October. The market will welcome many local food producers and farmers to delight us with local flavours. The planned location is 1 Industrial in Casselman.

There is a hurdle to address. The site is not zoned for a farmers’ market. Since the market is on private property and it is not a municipal activity, the usual process and fee are required. The Municipality of Casselman can process an application to modify the zoning, and there is an application fee of $2,000.

The Casselman Farmers’ Market, supported by the Eastern Ontario Agri-Food Network (EOAN), seeks your financial support to submit the zoning application. Please make a donation to bring a farmers’ market to Casselman. The monies are held in trust by the EOAN in order to pay the application fee.

This is not a charitable activity. Therefore personal donations do not receive a tax receipt and are not subject to HST. A person contributing $50 may request a membership in the EOAN for one year which is subject to HST.

Business contributions receive a business receipt as a tax-deductible marketing expense and are subject to HST. A business that donates $250, plus HST, receives a complimentary membership in the EOAN for one year.

When receiving your donation, we will ask your permission to list your name or business on this page to thank you publicly for your donation.

Thank you for your interest in helping us setup the very first and official farmers' market in Casselman! We are hopeful that we will be able to open in June 2022!
